Google Business Profile Hours Modification via GHL

Purpose

This SOP documents the process of modifying business hours in Google Business Profile (GBP) through GoHighLevel's Reputation section. This allows team members to update client business hours without requiring direct access to their Google Business Profile account.

Scope

Covers:

• Modifying regular business hours (Monday-Sunday)
• Setting days as open or closed
• Updating opening and closing times

Does Not Cover:

• Setting special/holiday hours (must be done directly in Google Business Profile)
• Creating or verifying a new Google Business Profile
• Connecting GBP to GHL sub-account (see Manual Review Request SOP)
• Modifying other GBP attributes (services, address, etc.)

Prerequisites

• GHL sub-account access (admin or standard user level)
• Google Business Profile already connected to the sub-account via Reputation module
• Client-approved business hours to set

Step-by-Step Procedure

Step 1: Navigate to Reputation Module

1. Log into the GHL sub-account
2. Click Reputation in the left navigation menu
3. The Overview page will load showing the connected Google Business Profile

Step 2: Locate Opening Hours Section

1. On the Overview page, scroll down to the Opening Hours section
2. The current hours will be displayed showing each day of the week
3. Days marked as "Closed" will show "Closed" in red text
4. Days with set hours will show the time range (e.g., "9:00 AM - 5:00 PM")

Step 3: Edit Business Hours

1. Click the pencil icon (edit button) to the right of the "Opening Hours" heading
2. An editing interface will appear allowing modification of each day

Step 4: Configure Hours for Each Day

For each day of the week:

To set a day as OPEN:

1. Ensure the day's toggle/checkbox is enabled
2. Enter the opening time (e.g., 9:00 AM)
3. Enter the closing time (e.g., 5:00 PM)

To set a day as CLOSED:

1. Toggle the day off or select "Closed" option
2. The day will display as "Closed"

For split hours (e.g., closed for lunch):

1. If supported, add multiple time ranges for the same day
2. Example: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Step 5: Save Changes

1. Review all days to confirm hours are correct
2. Click Save or Update to apply changes
3. Wait for confirmation message that changes were saved

Step 6: Verify Changes

1. Return to the Overview page
2. Confirm the Opening Hours section displays the updated times
3. Optionally, verify on Google Maps/Search that hours have synced (may take 24-48 hours)

Required Inputs

• GHL sub-account credentials
• Client's approved business hours for each day of the week
• Any special notes about the schedule (e.g., seasonal variations)

Expected Outputs

• Opening Hours section updated in GHL Reputation module
• Changes synced to Google Business Profile (within 24-48 hours)
• Google Maps and Search showing updated hours

Scenario A: Standard Business Hours

Example: Monday-Friday 9 AM - 5 PM, Weekends Closed

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Issue: Edit button (pencil icon) not visible Solution:

1. Verify you have admin-level access to the sub-account
2. Confirm Google Business Profile is connected (check for green checkmark)
3. Refresh the page and try again
4. If still not visible, the GBP connection may need to be re-established

Issue: Changes not saving Solution:

1. Check for any validation errors (invalid time format)
2. Ensure closing time is after opening time
3. Try a different browser or clear cache
4. Check internet connection stability

Issue: Changes not appearing on Google Maps/Search Solution:

1. Allow 24-48 hours for Google to sync changes
2. Verify changes saved successfully in GHL
3. Check if Google has flagged the listing for review (may require verification)
4. If urgent, edit hours directly in Google Business Profile as backup

Issue: Cannot set 24-hour operation Solution:

1. GHL may not support "24 hours" as a single setting
2. Set hours as 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM as workaround
3. For true 24-hour businesses, verify directly in Google Business Profile

Issue: Conflicting hours showing on Google Solution:

1. Google may have suggested hours from user submissions
2. Review and dismiss any Google-suggested changes in the GBP dashboard
3. Re-save hours through GHL to push correct information

Important Notes

• Sync Delay: Changes made in GHL may take 24-48 hours to appear on Google
• Holiday Hours: Special/holiday hours must be set directly in Google Business Profile; GHL does not support this feature
• Multiple Locations: Each location's sub-account must be updated separately
• Verification: Always verify changes appeared correctly on Google after 48 hours

Exceptions and Edge Cases

• Case A: 24/7 Business - May need to configure directly in Google Business Profile for proper "Open 24 hours" display
• Case B: Seasonal Hours - Document in client profile; set reminders to update when seasons change
• Case C: Temporary Closure - Use Google Business Profile's "Temporarily Closed" feature directly
• Case D: New Business Opening - Set "Opening Date" in addition to hours
